Natural Remedies, alternative health practices, complementary health, or holistic health are being asked for more today than ever.
These practices include healthy diets, natural supplements, herbs, relaxation techniques such as yoga, and meditation, exercise, and fitness.
“Alternative health medicine has come to be the popular term used to distinguish natural, non-invasive therapies from conventional medicine.” This statement came from The Women’s Encyclopedia of Natural Medicine.
We have seen the resurgence for natural health remedies especially in the past 5-10 years.
Conventional or western medicine has delivered much to us with science and technology. There is a hunger in individuals to want to take more control of their own health. More control is found with natural remedies.
I have learned, and I am still learning about healthier nutrition with whole organic, local foods. The benefits from the nutrients are able to give the body what it needs to be healthy and heal itself for many health issues including good heart health.
The following statement from the Women’s Encyclopedia of Natural Medicine sums up holistic health. “Health and Disease are conditions of the whole organism involving a complex interaction of physical, spiritual, mental, emotional, genetic, environmental, and social/cultural/economic factors.”
I believe that integrative medicine, meaning combining the science and treatments of conventional and natural health remedies can be the best for most of us.
We would feel more empowered and confident if our conventional health care providers would (and some are) be more receptive of the healing potential of alternative therapies.
As a retired, Public Health Nurse, Massage Therapist, and Human Being, I will pass on to you the researched information about Natural Remedies.
These natural cures that I mention will be from my own experience or information that I have researched for other people.
As I mentioned on my Home Page, I believe in alternative health and natural remedies. I also am very passionate about my exercise program as it contributes to my overall well being.
I will include a list of health articles below that will hopefully be very useful for you. If you would like information on a certain topic, please let me know and I can do some research.
